Normal Black Head purple breast female & Normal Red Head purple breast male. Females have a soft lavender breasts and males have bright purple breasts. These colors are the normal colors of wild Goulds.
Yellow Head white-breast female & Yellow Head Purple-breast Male. Notice the white pin feathers on the male, he is in the middle of his molt and will have a beautiful yellow head when through.
Two of our 2006 Gouldian babes. These are Yellow Heads, the left one will have a white breast, while the one on the right will be purple or lavender breasted depending on sex.
Notice the florescent mouth flanges at the corner of this babes beak. All baby Gouldians are gray feathered when they first fledge and do not get their true bright coloring until the first molt.
